What's New at the Dogpatch

07/31/08 The servers that DogPatch is hosted on have been upgraded. Unfortunately (for now) it can not support the older version of Cold Fusion which supported The Forums section of the site. The Forums will be down until this part of the site is reprogrammed. If you happen to know Cold Fusion and would like to help with getting The Forums back online, send me an e-mail to gordonthomas@nl.rogers.com

04/19/06 There have been some complaints about The Sheltie Updates Page with respect to spam. It has to removed manually by myself and another volunteer; this is done several times each day.

3/09/03 The Dogpatch now has a new owner. It was purchased by Gordon Thomas from Newfoundland, Canada. Newfoundland is situated on the very east coast of Canada. Gordon is the founder of a specialty dog sign manufacturing business, http://www.onboardsigns.com. His business makes dog signs for car windows featuring the largest and most varied online selection.
For those accustomed to the Dogpatch and Mary Jo he will continue to keep alive Mary Jo's work and what she has done for Dogpatch. Mary Jo's name is found throughout the site and remain as she founded the Dogpatch.

3/24/02: Yes, long time since I put anything on this page! Basically, I just don't have the time to run this site like I used to. I have considered taking it down, but everyone wants me to try and keep it going, so I am working to try and have people help me with the maintenance, as well as removing some areas of the site. Virtually all the non-dog related pages have been taken down, with the exception of my Palm pages. The Sheltie Updates page is no more, but I've added a link to a new site that will try and serve that purpose. Otherwise, everything is still here, and hopefully it will continue to be here for many years.

7/24/01: Once again, I've had to move Dogpatch to a new server. The Forums has been upgraded to a new version, and hopefully everything else is working now as well. As always, I save any emails people send me about new or broken links and work on them as I have time, so please be patient if you send me anything, I will get to it as I have time!

9/24/00: Well, as is probably obvious from how long it has been since I posted something here, Dogpatch has not been getting much attention as of late. I took a new job that keeps me very busy and my software sales from CFWebstore take what little time is left. Not to mention showing and training! I do plan to try and keep Dogpatch up and hopefully keep as many links working as I can, but please be patient with me as I just don't have as much time for it as I used to. As of today, all changes sent in to me have been done.

12/23/99: The redesign of the main Doghouse page is done! I'm working to get a more consistent look through most of the site, as well as to update some of the pages that needed it. It's slow work, so bear with me.

12/21/99: I've completely redone the Bookstore! You'll now find featured books and other items each month, photos of books where possible, and more. Even if you don't plan to order one of the items I've suggested, just by entering Amazon.com through one of my links will help support this site.

11/22/99: It's time for the holiday contest! Just like last year, you have to find the special button hidden on a page of the Dogpatch, winner is drawn from the successful entries. Details on the Holiday Contest page.

10/13/99: Oh dear, have had to move the Dogpatch again. Just not having luck with my hosting companies, but I'm very hopeful about the latest one, it better work out this time!

9/27/99: My CFWebstore software has been completed! At least for the time being. Those of you that know about this know I've been working on this for about a year, so this is an important event for me.

7/13/99: Added videos and other new books to the Bookstore.

6/11/99: I have finally gotten caught up the Exercise of the Month at the Agility Page! Now, if I can just stay on top of it and not get so behind again...

6/9/99: The Dogpatch has been moved again! It's located on a new server which will hopefully be more stable than the old one. Please note that all links should still be the same, with the exception of the Forums, which are now at http://206.239.207.243/Forums/index.cfm?CFApp=21.

5/13/99: CFWebstore has now moved to its own domain at cfwebstore.com! I've also added a bunch of new etexts for the Pilot.

4/14/99: Mostly just been adding links and doing some reorganizing. Lots of new links added to the Sheltie Page, Agility Page, Obedience Page, Frisbee Page and Herding Page. Also, I now host the Sheltie Classifieds.

2/23/99: Sorry, not much new at Dogpatch recently, just the usual maintenance going on. I've mainly worked on getting the new Clean Run site up which is based on my new CFWebstore for e-commerce.

11/23/98: Added a new Pilot page for canine enthusiasts and rearranged the whole Pilot section.

10/19/98: Added info on the upcoming Holiday contest.

10/2/98: Added the Pilot First Aid Page.

9/24/98: I re-did Taz's page. Lots of new pictures, and a neat new layout. Enjoy! Also, recently checked and updated all links on the site.

7/29/98: Visit the NEW Obedience and Training Page, now subdivided into sub-pages to allow for more expansion.

6/28/98: I'm continuing to track down all the missing pages, thanks for the help in finding broken links! The database of agility clubs is now online as well!

6/22/98: Holy cow! The entire Dogpatch has been reorganized! This means most links to this site will no longer work, and a lot of internal ones may have problems too! Please help notify anyone you know that has a link to my site to check and update them, and let me know if you find any problems!

6/4/98: Some new additions to the Dog Agility page. There is now a searchable database of agility judges online and a bulletin board where you can post a message if you need a ride, roommate, partner, etc. for an agility trial.

4/28/98: Added a bunch of new books to the Dogpatch Bookstore, including some Albert Payson Terhune and Susan Conant books. I also have a page listing my currently available Terhune books.

4/10/98: Updated my Favorite Pilot Apps page. Always finding new stuff for the Pilot I love!

3/17/98: Completed a MAJOR upgrade to the Dog Agility page. The page has been split into a bunch of subpages to better handle the large amount of material.

3/3/98: Added a bunch of new images to the Dogpatch Backgrounds page and the Sheltie Graphics page.

2/28/98: All pages on the site have been checked for bad links, hopefully I got them all! Lots of new links added.

2/23/98: Added a bunch of new sports figures to the Famous People on the Web page. Lots of fan pages for various figure skaters.

2/19/98: Just some additions around the site. Some new links on the sheltie breeders page, agility page and obedience page, as well as a bunch of new pictures on Taz's page. Other various links elsewhere.

1/23/98: I've completed the new additions to the Agility Record Book, Word Perfect and PDF versions. Look for new Word files soon!

1/22/98: I've added a whole bunch of new Agility FAQS. There's no easy way to find them, just browse through.

1/21/98: I've moved all the links from the old Mining Company site over here, and put the show-related ones on a new page, entitled Canine Shows and Activities. The Agility Course of the Week is now over here as well.

1/16/98: I've added all the latest agility titles to the FAQ page. This includes the new USDAA veterans titles and NADAC Outstanding and Superior Performance titles.

1/16/98: Look for lots of new additions as I move the links from the Breeds and Shows page over here to the Dogpatch. You'll find a bunch of new Great Dog Breed Pages, as well as lots of new links in the Free for All link database. I'll also be putting up a special page of links for canine activities.

1/6/98: The new Agility Events calendar is now online! You can search for certain types of events, certain states, or just recently added events. And you can now add events yourself!

12/22/97: By the time you read this, the Dogpatch will be at its new home! As usual, the site address is the same, but you'll notice a lot more features and improvements. Foremost of these is a new Homepage for the site, and a much-improved Forum for canine discussions. You'll also find a new Dogpatch search engine, an improved Database of canine links, and various and sundry interface changes.

12/22/97: Some pages are now gone. I've decided to remove the Guestbook. It's a pain to maintain, and really doesn't serve any useful purpose. If enough people wrote and asked for it back, I'll be glad to put it up again, but for now, it's gone. Also, most of the counters are gone from my pages. Again, I don't think most visitors really care. These were mostly for my benefit, and I now have other ways of tracking hits.
